Film Review – IT & IT, Chapter 2

by Amy

IT

IT is one of my favourite movies because it has a great plot and is really entertaining. It’s about a clown called Pennywise who, every 27 years, takes people and eats them. Bill and his friends (who are all kids) have to work together to stop him and make sure he doesn’t take anyone else. It became personal for Bill because Pennywise took his little brother and killed him. The group of friends set out to stop Pennywise but IT can shape shift into their worst nightmares, which makes it hard for them to overcome their fears and kill him. This movie is based on the book by Stephen King and is one of my favourite movies ever.

I really like it because it’s not too scary and I like a lot of the characters and actors in it.

It’s the characters, and their friendships, that make it more than just a horror movie. You get really attached to the characters and their individual stories and that makes it more entertaining and fun to watch. It’s also what makes you come back to see the second movie.

IT Chapter 2

This is the second IT movie and it’s just as good. This movie is set 27 years later and the characters who stopped IT in the first movie are all grown up. They have to work together to stop IT for the second time and kill him for good. This movie is great because all the characters from the first movie get to have a reunion and see each other again after all that time.

But not all of the characters come back, as Stan commits suicide before he comes back. At first his friends don’t know why he’s done this but later realise it’s because he was too scared to fight IT, and it would have put them all in danger.

I love this movie but it’s really sad as some of the best characters die. Personally, I like the first movie better because it’s more entertaining and funny when all the characters are kids.

I am reading the book now – so I will do a review of that once I have finished it.
